Alcohol/Chemical Treatment Series

A.C.T.S. is a free, twelve week substance abuse program designed to equip each client with tools to help them break the bonds of addiction.

A.C.T.S. classes help substance abusers by addressing three key areas: physical, emotional, and spiritual. First, A.C.T.S. classes help individuals become aware of their physical addictions. Next, the course educates participants on the physical and emotional problems that can result from this addiction. Finally, the program encourages spiritual growth as a means of helping individuals deal with the obstacles they face when working to overcome alcohol and chemical abuse.

A.C.T.S. is built around a series of classes that constitute a court-approved substance abuse program. Most courts and probation/parole programs require individuals with alcohol or drug-related offences to attend a substance abuse program. By participating in the A.C.T.S. program, individuals can meet their court-ordered requirements while also benefiting spiritually. The program consists of 12 class hours, and participants are awarded a certificate documenting their completion of the course. The A.C.T.S. program works hand-in-hand with the judicial system by providing attendance records to the appropriate authorities.

A curriculum-based program that educates participants about drugs and alcohol is the staple of the course. At each class meeting participants are taught background information on a brief historical story that reinforces the application. This combination approach is designed to salt the individual's path, producing a thirst for a drug/alcohol-free life. A.C.T.S. offers a way for individuals and families to breakout of the cycles of physical, emotional, financial, and legal problems associated with alcohol and chemical abuses.

The program stresses the importance of the participant accepting responsibility for a successful recovery and reinforces positive character development. One of its keys is that it offers support and encouragement from people who have been there and are now living a productive life.

Anger Management

Anger Management is a twelve-week program that we have found to be helpful to many families. Anger Management is built around a series of classes that constitute a court-approved program. Most courts and probation/parole programs require individuals with anger or domestic related offences to attend an anger management program. By participating in the program, individuals can meet their court-ordered requirements while also benefiting spiritually. The program consists of 12 class hours, and participants are awarded a certificate documenting their completion of the course. The Anger Management program works hand-in-hand with the judicial system by providing attendance records to the appropriate authorities.

Research shows again and again that it is hard to change habitual behavior, and that it is easier to make a sustain real changes in behavior when you have a good support group. For this reason, if a person is really serious about changing the way he/she handles anger, they are likely to be better off participating in a formal anger management program than taking the self-study approach. A formal program provides structure to guide their change process, helps motivate them to continue to work when they might otherwise want to quit, and helps them recognize and be proud of the progress they make. The certified instructors in the Anger Management Class are well equipped to help people find new direction in their lives.
